Home Vinyl Siding Melting Mystery: SOLVED! - Mullica Hill, NJ
Challenge
In September 2021, Michael C. from Mullica Hill, NJ entrusted our company to replace his roof, siding, windows, and gutters. We utilized top-quality Atlas Weathermaster products for his roof replacement while Charter Oak vinyl siding was chosen for the siding. To replace his old windows, we used Slocomb windows and installed new white seamless gutters and gutter guards. After the job was completed, Michael was extremely satisfied with the final outcome and had no complaints. However, about six months later, he noticed a strange occurrence where his vinyl siding began to look melted or burned, causing bubbles in a specific area of his home. It was our responsibility to investigate and resolve the issue, which we promptly did.
Solution
Upon further inspection of the property, it was discovered that the layout of Michael's home was the root cause of a perplexing problem. The direct sunlight hitting the window in a particular area created a greenhouse effect on the home, which caused damage to the newly-installed Charter Oak vinyl siding. Larry, our owner, quickly identified the issue and recommended replacing the Slocomb window with a clear pane-style window to prevent the sun from reflecting off of it. We informed Michael of the issue, arranged for a revisit, and resolved the problem to his satisfaction. Despite the setback, Michael remains delighted with the high-quality work we did on his roof, siding, windows, and gutters. Now he can enjoy his home without any worries.
